Clair Daly (she/they)
Housesitter, Walker, & Marketing Lead
Location: NW Austin 78731
Clair has lived with and cared for dogs (hers and fosters alike) throughout her life. Her first foster dog, a senior pitbull named Ginger with leash aggression, was the inspiration for Clair to pursue her dream of working with dogs who were misunderstood or not given a fair chance. For the past few years, she has walked, cared for, administered medicine, and provided mental stimulation, and comfort to dogs in the Austin metro area. Working with a wide range of breeds and ages has given Clair the knowledge of so many breeds' unique qualities and how to best support them.
She is skilled with many dog behaviors and has a passion and natural ability to create a safe space for dogs with trauma or aggression. Clair specializes in helping dogs who are shy or fearful of people or dogs, territorial (protective of the home), and on-leash reactivity or pulling. She is also knowledgeable and patient with seniors (in fact, they are her favorites). Clair has experience with pain management and dogs who hate taking pills.
Your beloved dog(s) are safe in Clair's warm and calm presence. Dogs can sniff out her good vibes right away. She's had nervous dogs lie down on her feet upon first meeting and no-touch dogs ask her directly for pets by the end of a 4-day homestay. She uses a combination of positive reinforcement, dog knowledge and experience, support, and love, to truly treat your pets like her own.
